Would someone be able to answer a question for me.i have 4 sets of speakers in various rooms in my house, installed in the ceiling. Would I be able to hook this switcher up to a receiver in order to get my speakers working.
The next thing I was afraid of is that all the sound would disapear or the quality would drop dramatically when I turned on all the speakers, but when I turned them all on there was no noticable loss of power to any speaker. The farthest pair is over 120 feet away and I put a volume control on the end. I thought I'd give this thing a try, but I was pretty skeptical because I have a variety of speakers and they are at various distances from my reciever. The sound is really good even though the signal travels through this thing and 120 feet of wire and a volume control. I have limited budget for audio and I wanted to run speakers to a porch, two sets to a patio and another set in my kitchen. I connected this device to the "B" speakers on my Yamaha reciever. I was pretty sure that would not work, but it works very well.
I have one button for the garage and one for the deck right now. Works great and was a good buy. Perfect switching device for selecting our outside speakers. Plenty left for numerous other rooms also.
Copper is a good enough conductor, thank you. It also looks nice, with an attractive black coated aluminum housing, and the switches seem to be of good quality. This six pair speaker selector switch replaced a piece of junk I had unfortunately purchased from Radio Shack. The old switch had bleed-through to non-selected speakers, which sort of defeats the purpose. The monster switch works as it should - sound only from selected speakers. The connectors in the back are a little bit awkward if you don't plan to use the "gold plated pins" that monster would like to sell you, which I don't.
The Monster Cable SS-6 Speaker is a great product, at first I thought it would help me to connect my 3 additional speakers, but to my surprise it was able to connect 12 speakers. (6 sets of two/audio-area), this is something great for the price it costs.
